An optional add-on that caps what you pay if the rented equipment is damaged. It is not insurance.

Equipment protection
Equipment protection is an optional add-on to the rental agreement with Trysil Skishop AS that limits how much you have to pay if the rented equipment is damaged. It is not insurance, and we are not an insurance intermediary. It is an agreed cap on your liability towards us as the rental company.
Equipment protection must be selected and paid for before pick-up and cannot be added after damage has occurred.
What it covers
- Sudden and accidental damage to the equipment during normal use in the rental period.
- Damage to skis, poles, bindings, snowboards, bikes and accessories included in the rental.
- Your liability is capped at the maximum amount for the equipment type, whatever the repair costs.
What it does not cover
- Theft or loss of the equipment.
- Damage caused by gross negligence or intent.
- Breach of safety and anti-theft measures, for example an unlocked bike.
- Damage covered by warranty or by your own insurance.
- Embezzlement and fraud.
- Personal injury, damage to clothing or other belongings, and indirect losses.

Without equipment protection
Without equipment protection you are fully liable for damage or loss, up to these amounts:

Price
The price of equipment protection depends on the equipment and the length of the rental, and is shown as a separate option with the amount in NOK at checkout and on the rental agreement before you pay. You are never charged for equipment protection unless you select it yourself.
Reporting damage
Tell us as soon as possible, and no later than when you return the equipment. Theft must also be reported to the police, and a police report must be provided. We document the condition of the equipment on return and give you a written summary of any claim.
Relationship to the rental terms
Equipment protection is governed by section 7 of the rental terms. In case of conflict, the rental terms apply. Cancellation follows section 5 of the rental terms.
